Swappin' Howdies! and a Giveaway
Howdy! Welcome to my Little Korner!
A friend of mine, Star Traci, clued me in to a blog party that I thought sounded wonderful. Vicki, over at 2 Bags Full, was thanking the blog-i-verse for the wonderful friends she has met through it. How wonderful!! I also have met wonderful people through the blog-i-verse and would love to offer my thanks as well to those wonderful people who have encouraged and challenged me over the years!!
I started blogging back in 2010, and it was all downhill from there ;-) I met folks through blog hopping and commenting. Pretty soon, I had friends whom I have never had the pleasure of meeting face-to-face. I just had no idea how many people I would be meeting from all over the place. I love that!
My blog is nothing fancy and doesn't make any money whatsoever ;-) It is just my place to be creative, vent, engage current events, talk about our homeschool, and share God's blessings in my life.
we homeschool,
and a bit on the active side.
We are curently stationed in Alaska and this is the view from our back deck.
It is an amazing place to see!!!
If you poke around my blog you will find:
~ a page dedicated to sharing memories, which I do on Mondays
~ a page dedicated to History hunting, because we just love history around here!
~ a page dedicated to sharing App Love
Below you will find a giveaway. For 3 blessed visitors who sign up (any visitor, not just blog hoppers), I have a $5 Starbucks gift card for you. You DO NOT have to follow me to enter, there are several ways to earn entries. Just my way of saying "thanks for stopping by my little korner.
Please swap your own howdy so I can definitely visit you back. Thanks so much for stopping by, may God Bless you richly!!

DeleteHi Kay,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to meet you and look forward to following. I am impressed with your homeschooling. Many of our church friends do and I am considering a homeschool/private blend for my children in the upcoming years. You have quite the family!
It was a rocky start for us, I almost quick before the end of that first year. I hope you find the best solution for your family :-) Any assistant I can be, just let me know. Or poke around and learn from my mistakes, I do make a few ;-)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you.
I would like to try my luck in your giveaway.
There is a giveaway on my blog, too.

DeleteHello, Kay, just want to thank you for dropping by my blog earlier. I suspect you're a very busy mom, so I'm flattered that you took the time to visit. I'll be checking back with you very soon. Take care. Cheryl
ReplyDeleteOh I do enjoy this quite a bit, but you are right, I can't hope to get all the way through this entire party. Thank you for the return visit :-)
DeleteHI Kay
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. What a beautiful family. we have four married children--one boy three girls.....takes a lot to get them raised up. Our son and his wife home school their two little ones. We were able to visit Kodiak ALaska last year when our youngest and her family lived there and taught at the high school.
I have jumped on board as a new follower.
God Bless
Oh, Kodiak!! I wish they were still there. We would love to visit and hubby of course would love to hunt there.
DeleteGetting them raised sounds wonderful, there are days I really want to do whatever I want to do ;-) Are you enjoying your 'retirement'?
Hello Kay - I am here from Vickie's 2 Bags Full.
ReplyDeleteYour videos are precious and a great keepsake. I was never very good at doing video or scrapbooks and I only had two. But I will be a grandma soon and so I have another chance. :)
I spent my 1st and 2nd grade in Anchorage. I have many good memories of living there.
I look forward to checking out your history and memory pages. I like learning facts and learning about people.
How wonderful to have those memories!!
DeleteI have never been good with scrapbooking, and I would love to do them! Maybe I can do it during retirement ;-)
Thank you for stopping by!
Howdy Kay~
ReplyDeleteFirst, a great BIG THANK YOU to you and your military family for being just that...a military family! Loved your post and enjoyed your family photos. I'm having a great time at the Blog Party. Hope you are, too. Been to Hawaii, and Alaska is on my TO DO list! Be well. Hope you'll visit me back!
Vicki aka hula~la
Thank you so much! If you happen to swing by before the Army moves us out, would you like a meal? Sometimes home cooking on vacation is a real treat. I am not fancy, but it's home made ;-) Thank you so much for stopping by!
DeleteHowdy, thanks for a giveaway. Love these blog hops.
ReplyDeleteMe too, how far have you gone? I am only half way through the 'under 50' list.
DeleteHello. Lovely layout on your blog.
ReplyDeletestitchinginthezoo.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteYou too Jamers, you too!! I wish we could just go out for coffee and talk about our crazy pre-teens in person!!
DeleteSo much fun doing the Blog Party with Vicki - thanks for sharing your blog, too, and stopping by mine. I am slow at getting around because my computer's motherboard died (on Saturday no less) - but, am doing it little by little. Lovely to see your intro. Hugs from the Kenai Peninsula. kareninkenai@gmail.com (www.alaskabluemoose.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteUgh! We are pretty good at killing off computers ourselves. There may be something to that theory that some people can conduct electricity ;-) Thanks for swinging by! I love your Alaska artwork, so very very pretty! I really like the blue moose! We just don't get to see too many of them this year.
DeleteGreat family. All ready to defend their country. And do come to visit my blog, since the party goes on. I have a nice vintage lace book to giveaway. See you there.
ReplyDeleteOn my way to visit this morning! They are a fun family, and sure know how to keep me busy ;-)
DeleteAwesome giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win ;) I look forward to reading your blog!
ReplyDeletekarrie
Thank you, nothing says lovin' like coffee! I love passing my addiction along :-)
DeleteHi there, what a great blog. A dear friend of mine just left Alaska after being stationed there for five years. You are also entered in my giveaway at highknollhomestead.com
ReplyDeleteThank you! Did they enjoy their time up here? It's not even really cold!
DeleteAlaska is a place that I have always wanted to visit! Maybe someday. Enjoyed your photos. : )
ReplyDeleteI hope you make it for your visit! The mountains are just amazing!
DeleteHi Kay, Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm not from Ireland, despite my blog title :) I just love 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree' by William Butler Yeats. It's my favourite poem! I'm actually from Canada and have lived here (but not the same city) all my life. I homeschooled for 3 years (my daughter for all 3, and my son for the first 2). I look forward to visiting your blog on a regular basis now that we've found each other!
ReplyDeleteWe drove through Canada when we moved here! We drove through Edmonton, Dawson Creek, White Horse.. Such a beautiful drive!!!
DeleteHowdy and thanks for the coffee opportunity
ReplyDeleteNo sweat, thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThanks for hosting this. :)
ReplyDeleteNo sweat, I hope you had fun at the party. I did :-) Thanks for stopping by and I apologize for the late response.

DeleteGreat to meet you - I still haven't made it around to visit everyone from the GYB Party! Enjoyed your story. Thanks for the visit, too.
ReplyDeleteJan ♥
I haven't made it all the way around yet either. School started again for all the kids and me. Whew, so crazy busy here now. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteThanks for stopping by to see me at Home In Douglas! I am always happy to meet another Alaskan blogger! I will be following you! Wouldn't it be fun to have an Alaskan Bloggers meeting sometime?
ReplyDeleteWhere are you stationed?
We are at JBER near Anchorage. I would totally join an AK blogger group. We should get together up here for a conference or something. Thank you for returning the visit :-)
DeleteI am hopping on the GYB hop! Glad to have found your blog. I'm enjoying checking it out!
ReplyDeleteDeniseB
Thank you so much for stopping by! It has been a crazy week, hence the late reply to this comment. I had so much fun with the GYB party. I love meeting new people!
DeleteLooking Forward to that "view from my deck" that you tantalize everyone with on a regular basis. I suspect the summer sunsets will not be as spectacular as winter sunsets and too late at night for an old gal.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to SHOWING IT TO YOU, mom!!! Golly I am so jazzed about everyone coming up. I am already losing sleep at night due to planning ;-)
DeleteKay! Pick me, pick me! Your Manhattan-Hawkeye buddy loves coffee! :) (Speaking of our homestate -- I was there this weekend! Hurrah! But ISU beat KSU. Sad day!)
ReplyDeleteIf I could have hand picked the winners, you know I hand pick you! I miss you Mel, for many reasons. I pray God blesses your generous heart and giving spirit.
DeleteI just can't believe KSU kicked butt this year!! That is so cool.
Hi Kay--another visitor from Vicki's blog party....glad to meet you! I have one day left to make it to all the blogs and quite a few left on the list...whew! Blessings to you and your big, active family--it was fun seeing a little slice of your life. Stop over to my blog and giveaway, too, if you get the chance!
