thanksgiving in july

happy thanksgiving day!!! okay, so it's not thanksgiving in the historical pilgrim sense, but it is a day of thanksgiving here in our home. it's easy for Christian believers to run to God when things look dreary and times are hard, but how many times to we run to our Father when He blesses us? just like teaching a child to ride a bike, when the child falls down with a boo boo, we run to God when we are hurt. but when we get going and things are smooth, we barrel on ahead of Him and expect Him to follow us or even not care what He is doing because we are cruising!

so today, having a great day, being showered with blessings from my Father, i am going to shout it out, GOD IS GOOD. He is giving me full nights of sleep with my 2 month old. sleep really helps me to handle the many, many, MANY things that happen on a daily basis in this large home. sleep also helps me to handle a VERY challenging 3yr old who is completely into the defiance stage of life. i can be patient with him and his antics. God has graced my children today with an attitude of kindness and obedience. so chores are being done with positive attitudes, smiles and hugs accompany these chores, and we even got to sing and dance around today! it's one of our favorite things to do!! we air band like total rock stars!!!

God IS good all the time. during our good days and our bad days. our prayer life is crucial in both situations. if you are having a good day, thank God for it. if you are having a bad day, seek God for the strength to get through it.

for He who is mighty has done great things for me. Luke 1:49

who is like you, O LORD, among the gods? who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? Exodus 15:11

there is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. Psalm 86:8
