Gentle Thoughts For Today

1. Birds of a feather flock together...and then poop on your car.

2. A penny saved is a government oversight.

3. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends.

4. The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

5. He who hesitates is probably right.

6. Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are XL.

7. If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame.

8. The sole purpose of a child's middle name is so he can tell when he's really in trouble..

9. Did you ever notice: When you put the two words 'The' and 'IRS' together it spells 'Theirs...'

10. Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved.

11. When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, think of Algebra.

12. One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is such a nice change from being young. Ah.... being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

  1. #4 is so true! When my parents came down to my place for Thanksgiving last year, we bought a new bookshelf and planned to put it together. However, the hammer was no where to be found! My mom and I looked high and low. (You know how small my duplex was!) Sadly, no hammer. Nowhere. (After they left, I used my farm girl ingenuity and put it together using the handle of a crescent wrench.) :)

So, my dad kindly gave me a hammer for Christmas! (And a shovel. And a travel-sized air compressor. And a battery jumper with a 50 ft. extension cord. LOVE HIM!)

The VERY DAY I came back to Kansas, I took my camping chair out of the closet for some reason. Guess what I found? The missing hammer! It had fallen off the shelf and into the folded up chair!

I think this is genetic. My dad does this too!!!
