Dumping the Fragments

Mommy's Idea
What a week! Much of the emotional roller coaster I plan to dump here (sorry about that, but it is my blog:-) ) and some I'm not at liberty to discuss yet.

I discovered earlier this week that a couple of my students had lied about doing their school work last week (we homeschool, just in case you were unaware). I found this out after grading a couple failed exams. It must be disappointing to a teacher to have kids side step school work and then fail a test... it is very disconcerting when it is your kid and your classroom :-(  It means more structure and unpleasant consequences for us all. Add in there a pre-teen attitude and you may guess how this week has gone.

Here comes the snow!!!!!
WOOHOO!!!

Add to the homeschool woes my own personal disappointment of Tuesday. I won't get ugly but it was just a personal disappointment for me, not just in the selection that was made, but what it represents. However I wanted to encourage you if you are also feeling discouraged concerning the events of Tuesday.

Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment,  and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces
John 16:33 I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courageI have conquered the world.
1 John 5:4 Because everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith
Matthew 6:20-21 But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be
My husband wrote a devotional concerning Tuesday if you care to read it here.

I read a few very amazing blog posts this week that really lifted my spirits. If you would like to go check them out:
  1.  One pertains to my dear friend Rachel's mission trip to Ethiopia
  2. The other blog post is a very encouraging post from a friend of mine whose son has autism
  3. I was actually mentioned a blog post this week, can you believe that? Mrs. Seaman proffered an amazing Fall Mix with a wonderful, and meaningful story behind it. She gave me permission to steal it ;-)

I wanted to end my post on a humorous note. When the warning signs posted  FOR BLOCKS that a certain bridge in Durham North Carolina are only so high, you should recognize that your large truck and pile of junk may not fit under the bridge.

  2. Where are you that snow is headed your way? I'm SO READY for it to come to Central Wisconsin. We had an inch or so on Election day, but it was melted by the next morning.

Goodness - - - most of those "topless" vehicles didn't even PAUSE when the de-topping occured. What in the world is WRONG with them that they didn't see the warning, slow down, or hear the racket???

  3. Tho my youngest grandson is now 17...I remember my own kids and the teen-age, rebellious times. Good luck. And may I say from experience, they learn a lesson of life by acting up and so on and so forth...thing is, it's not easy as you say.
