I can't frag, with or without you

We have come to another Friday Fragments of which I cannot do with our without you ;-) If you happen to have some muddled and incomplete posts running around your brain, come on over and share them with Mrs. 4444.

This week's frags come from U2. This song takes me back to my youth, driving in a white T-top Camaro, flying down the country roads with my best friend. I see corn fields fly by, still green and young. I see 2 girls singing with the bass pumping, heading anywhere the road leads them...

Mommy's Idea

~~~
I had a couple "that's why I married you" moments recently.
      • Last Friday morning was a grumpy one for me. Ben ignorantly sent Noah (the 2yr old) down to 'snuggle' with me. Noah came to my bed, pulled my hair and demanded I draw things on his back. I ran to the shower to attempt to get away from the 2yr old. He proceeded to watch me shower asking about every step I took.
        Get upstairs to the insanity that is the morning before a marriage retreat, the kids used all the milk, so no cereal for mommy and no latte. Mommy was feeling grumpy and was showing the grump.
      • Ben also thought I should know how worn and aged my favorite ropers are looking. Grrrr.
        The humor comes when I was saying something snarky (I had some great one liners come to mind at just the right moment) Ben grumbled from his recliner "you are really digging 'em in this morning, babe!"
        I grinned... "the reason I love my old ropers is because my spurs fit them best!!!"
        We both grinned. I love those moments when 16 years pays off. It's a good thing to realize that he is perfect for me!
      • One of my favorite Pandora radio stations is Nelson. They were one of my faves, which I have mentioned before. My hubby teases me about it, of course. But this last week while "Love and Affection" was playing, he did a perfect imitation of the twins, complete with air guitar and the heal-bounce-shuffle. The grin on his face while 'singing' the song had me laughing so hard I was crying. It was great!!
We lost the keys to the van this past week. I say we because I left them in the door because my hands were full and my daughter swears she grabbed them from the door and hung them on the key hooks. By the time we were moving back toward the door for another errand, the keys vanished. The first day, we looked in all the places they could have fallen. The second day we searched all the places a 2yr old has stuffed things before. Now a week later, we have emptied cupboards, cleared out the pantry, moved appliances, gone through all closets, tossed bed, both emptied and moved dressers, and finally pulled up all air vent covers. The keys are still gone :-(
I remember my mother having key fob on her keys that would beep when you whistled for them. My kids were confused as to why I would whistle every once in a while and snicker to myself. I didn't bother explaining to them, I am working on my "moms gone nuts" defense already ;-)
Yes, please, can I have this house????!!!! Pretty please with sugar on it!!! I will even clean the bathrooms myself!
Searching through old photos for this post made me laugh and grumble at the same time. I love all the memories that the old photos brought to mind: seminary days, children's museum of Cinci, moments with friends and family.  But inevitably, it reminds me of my age. I look back at when the curves on my body were very complimentary and my bottle blond hair was cut cute ;-)
Please pray for my cousin's baby Elli. Due to some blood pressure issues, she was born at just 24 weeks. She a pretty tiny mite, but she's holding her own and even breathes a bit on her own. These are all wonderful blessings, but this little precious bundle is not out of the woods yet!! Please pray for her and her parents who don't get to hold her and snuggle her like most new parents.
The Lord's loyal kindness never ceases; his compassions never end. They are fresh every morning; your faighfulness is abundant! "My portion is the Lord," I have said to myself, so I will put my hope in him.  Lamentations 3:22-24
  2. ah what's a roper?
    Music is great for refreshing your memories. My introduction to U2 came from our teenage kids who are probably about your age I guess. They created a number of great songs.
    all the best
    1. Ropers and Lacers are the ankle boots that lace up. Mine have the leather layer "tassle" type thing at the bottom of the laces. I should have included a picture, sorry about that.
  3. I thought cowboy boots lasted forever? Sure, maybe your ropers might be worn and aged, but that's just 'broken in', right? ;)
    You and your hubby sound like you'd be hilarious to hang out with! :)
    Hopefully you'll find your keys soon! It's annoying when the mischievous key elf absconds with them, isn't it? ;)
    Who on earth built a castle in Kentucky? But yeah, I'd totally live there. :)
    I'll definitely keep your cousin's precious angel in my thoughts and prayers. ((HUGZ!!))
    1. Oh totally broken in, that's why I love them!! In fact I keep telling hubby that I need them re-soled for better tread.
      We can be fun, but there are days... I hope those keys show up soon. It's driving me batty :-(
      The KY castle was a joke when we lived there years ago. It actually wasn't finished for decades because the original owner ran out of money ;-)
  4. I didn't know what ropers were either, but I thought they may be cowboy boots. I love "With or Without You!"
  5. Oh my! So very tiny. My prayers go out to your cousin and her precious little one.
    Just a thought on the keys, usually when I lose something it turns up in the refrigerator. Have a great weekend.
  6. So cowboy boots are called ropers? Where have I been?? Oh, how I hate losing the keys! I lay them down in the most peculiar places!
    1. Well, there are actually a lot of styles of cowboy boots ;-) My calves are on the healthy side, so I wear the ankle leather lace up version. They go by either Ropers or Lacers. I should have been more clear or included a picture, so sorry about that.
    It drives me nuts when I loose my keys. Maybe they are in your ropers! :)
