Friday Fragments!!
It's Friday, it's Friday!! Yahoo! It's been a busy week here again... course with our crew, when is it not?? Welcome to Friday Fragments. The day we de-clutter our minds and toss our fragments onto our blogs! Please join the rest of my fraggin' buddies at Friday Fragments.
It is 0445 on Friday morning and I just can't sleep! Believe it or not, I am not the first Fragger this week. 5 other folks have beat me to it already at this point. It's going to be short this week, I would really rather be sleeping ;-) No offense to my fragmented crew, but sleep gets more enjoyable as I get older ;-)
Monday we raced up to Baltimore for a pre-op Doc visit with the orthopedic folks. They bumped my daughter's surgery up to yesterday. Again, we had the whole crew in the little room while we discussed the procedure. Then Thursday we arrived 1030hrs for her 1255hrs surgery. It finally happened 1345. She was prepped, in her over sized hospital gown, mommy was in her jump suit, and we walked over to the OR. The kind folks at Johns Hopkins had to go to sleep via her breathing mask before poking her IV, which obviously took some effort as her left arms looks like a junkie arm. Her IV slipped post-op so her left elbow was very swollen :-( Something mommy had a hard time seeing.
But the GREAT news is that the 1hr surgery became a 3hr surgery (Daddy was PACING those halls, I tell you) because the Doc was able to shave off a bone spur and get her arm straight! It was totally the best case scenario!!! Thank you Lord Jesus!!! So our Princess is recovering with a split cast and she is doing so marvelous!!! I am so very proud of her!!
The current background is for her!!! She loves pink and flowers!
I am so very ready for the warm weather! I love snow, I actually do, but warmer weather gets my very active children outside for long periods of time. That large motor time gets me a full night of sleep without all the bed guests. I have a very snuggly family and my children KNOW when daddy gets up to go to work. But those rare morning when daddy is still in bed at 0500, our queen mattress gets very cramped!
We had a bit of a scare with my sister this past weekend. She is 10wks pregnant and began to have some dark red spotting. We really didn't get hugely concerned till she started passing tissue clumps. We braced ourselves... but at the doctors office we received great news! A very healthy and active baby was seen on the ultrasound!! Yay, happy dance!!
That is really all I have for this week. I know, so short?? what is wrong with her?? I think I can actually get some sleep now, so I am going to try ;-)
I will leave you all with this, this week. It is one of my favorite songs from back in the day, but I think a bit appropriate with all the insanity going on in the world these days. Enjoy!! Thank you so much for stopping by! Please sign my guestbook if you would.
Happy Friday Fragments! Nice to meet you! I can't imagine the stress of your daighter's surgery. My son went through a small procedure about a year ago (he was 2 at the time) and I was a bundle of nerves!
